Campbell, Calif., February 17, 2010 – Mark D. Edelstein, MD has been named Medical Director of EMQ FamiliesFirst, California’s largest children’s services agency. The appointment follows almost 10 years of psychiatric consulting to EMQ FF. He joins the agency with the personal mission to promote high quality services informed by both clinical knowledge and the values of respect, collaboration and accountability to children, families and the community.
“Mark’s qualifications and experience in child and adolescent psychiatry make him an important addition to our expert, professional, caring team,” said Darrell Evora, LMFT, president and CEO of EMQ FamiliesFirst. “He’ll be teaming with our management staff to ensure that all of our direct service staff have the resources needed to help the children served by our agency.”
Dr. Edelstein is Board Certified in psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, past president of the California Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at UC Davis School of Medicine.
