The Family Therapeutic Services program of EMQ FamiliesFirst provides traditional clinic-based and some in-home and community-based treatment for individual children and adolescents with serious emotional disorders and for family members in crisis. It helps children and their families alleviate suffering, recover from trauma, restore and maintain a healthy level of day-to-day functioning, and work toward optimal growth and development at home and in the community.
The Family Therapeutic Services clinical staff provides a wide array of services including:
- Individual therapy
- Family therapy
- Group therapy
- Psycho-education
- Social skill development
- Psychological testing
- Case management
- Crisis intervention
- Treatment for children and families affected by child sexual abuse
- Risk assessment and management
- Multi-provider coordination
- Development of other community supports
Programs are offered in English and Spanish.
How does a person receive services from this program?
Referrals are made to EMQ FamiliesFirst's Client Services Center
from the County Department of Social Services, County Department of Family and Children Services, County Department of Mental Health,
Juvenile and Adult Probation Departments, school systems, private therapists, or other programs within EMQ FamiliesFirst, as well as from the families
themselves.
